About the work:
Maiden Webb is a lyrical and deeply personal memoir of post-war Wynnum, where family, routine, hardship, and love shape the lives of six sisters growing up by the bay. Through vivid memory and richly observed detail, T.W.S Armstrong captures a disappearing world of kitchen tables, picture theatres, working lives and a quiet endurance, anchored by the commanding presence of Launa and Dad. Tender, honest and distinctly Australian, Maiden Webb is both a portrait of one family and a moving reflection on how place, grief, and resilience echo across generations.
